So if you're a goody-two-shoes, you would set the law to severe. There is a justice of the peace, who's special ability is to set the severity of the law. etc) Each office has a salary, and also has official duties which give benefits to the holder.(for example, if you're the mayor, one of the abilities is to dip into the petty cash fund of the town. it's also hard to defend your office when a few goons just broke both of your legs while you were on the way to the courthouse).(there are other ways of course. Running through the political system, you have to be willing to bribe others to vote for you, blackmail them(by hiring thugs to shadow your opponents to watch them doing their nefarious deeds), or by good ole fashioned jury packing.(it's hard to defend your office when you're being sent to the executioner to get your head chopped off.

Each town has different offices in a hierarchy which you progress through. What I found most interesting about the Guild II(+first expac) was the political system. That was the most annoying thing with the original.ĮDIT: I used their forums when I couldnt decipher from the manual, was pretty helpful on figuring out the game: If someone has tried it, I would be particualarly interested on how it patched up. I always wanted to pick up The guild2 but never got around to it. Some people on their forums played for several generations, well beyond the point of breaking the game. Completely open play would let you continue playing with your heirs if you had children letting you continue the game perpetually if you played in said sandbox mode. Its really quite an open sandbox game but you could pick finite goals to achieve. If the sequel is anything like the orignal its a psuedo realtime (with pausing) economic simulator, The original had some combat and fanatasy and RPG elements thrown in.
#The guild 2 renaissance tutorial manual
Had a hard time finding a manual (ended up finding it linked off the companies forums) and even after the latest patch was pretty buggy. It was translated well enough but support was lacking. Unfortunately it was developed by a german company. I found it to be quite fun strategy economics sim. I stumbled upon the original (the guild, gold edition with the expansion).
